Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)

Do you suffer from a stuffy nose, sneezing, coughing, or a lack of sleep? These symptoms point to a bigger problem, and one you don't have to live with-- indoor air quality. Did you know that the EPA and Congress now consider indoor air quality to be one of the most serious environmental health problems in America? A large amount of the problem comes from technologically advanced housing.

While an airtight house may make your home efficient, it also traps all kinds of pollutants like mold, bacteria, odors, pet dander, viruses, and VOC's. These pollutants stay in your house and circulate indefinitely, unless you do something about them!

The Elderly and Children are especially at risk, but even the healthiest adults can suffer from poor Indoor Air Quality. Some of the most common symptoms include:

  • headaches
  • nausea
  • sore or scratchy throat
  • nasal irritation
  • dry, red, or watering eyes
  • coughing
  • fatigue

The good news is, you can take control. Find out if your home's air is polluted with a simple, state of the art, diagnostics test. Stewart Heat and Air is an authorized Airadvice Indoor Air Analysis™ Company. We will Provide a full-color report with suggestions on improving the quality of your air, as well as a free consult to help you understand your results better. For more information, Contact Us!

Stewart Heat & Air, in partner with Guardian Air, offers several options for combating airborne pollutants:

UV-C Germicidal Lamps

A UV-C Germicidal lamps are a great way to kill germs and mold on your unit's coil. Basically, the lamps are like a sun lamp, and will kill any microbials that pass within a few inches of it. This is a great, cost-effective way to reduce mold growth on your coil, and is fairly easy to install. However, there are many airborne pollutants that the lamps do nothing to help. Also, these lamps will not be able to cover the entire coil, about 90% is the best they can do, leaving 10% that can still grow mold.

PHI ™ Cell

The PHI ™ Cell is the best way to reduce all airborne pollutants in your home or office. The cylindrical cell is easily mounted into the air or heat system, and works by creating an oxidation process to capture and/or convert those particles into harmless oxygen or hydrogen. Also, cell replacement is recommended every 3 years for optimal use. This system is over 97% effective at reducing micro-organisms, and has been approved by the USDA and FSIS for food purification. It was even tested and approved to protect against SARS virus by the Chinese Government. Here are some other statistics found after both independant, commercial, and acedemic lab tests:

  • 99.99% surface bacteria reduction
  • 99.99% virus reduction in only 15 minutes!
  • over 80% VOC reduction (chemical odors)
  • 99.99% bacteria in water reduction
  • 97% airborne bacteria reduction
  • 85% odor reduction
  • 97% airborne mold reduction
  • 99% food service microbial reduction

Other statistics about the PHI™ Cell:

  • Aospital approvals Infectious Diseases- US and international
  • Approved by USDA, FSIS, and FDA for use in food processing plants.
  • Fox News three-part indoor air series concluded they substantially reduced indoor mold and bacteria.
  • Featured on FOX, ABC, CBS, and in Popular Science Magazine.

Plug-Ins

Stewart Heat & Air now offers a portable version of the PHI™ Cell. The Guardian Air Plug-In is a wonderful (and portable) option for reducing airborne pollutants that requires no wiring or installation. Simply plug the 2 pound purifier into any outlet, and let it run! It is great for taking on vacation, using at the office, putting in locker rooms or bathrooms, and more! The plug in uses the same technology, and has the same benefits as the PHI™ Cell, so it is a great option for small-scale air purification.
